Old games & toys which wont be left on the shelves

The toy shops consists lots of variety of toys which make the youths go gaga(crazy) over it. But if you do notice it closely, actually some of the toys are just 'old toys' with new kind of packaging. when you compare it with some other kind of toys,  some of the 'old toys' had already been over 30 years of making. Even after passing down to a few generations, it had still been well liked by the youths till now.

why does the 'old toys' is still being well-adored by the youths now?

1. The toys had a ultimate attractive details.
Person  from the Mint Museum Of Toys pointed out that the toys for the youths had something is common, which is the   'playable details' . He said, even if toys can be featured thru a lot of ways, but is the toy itself had no attractiveness,  after the promotion it would be slowly forgotten by the people.
Example is the barbie doll, which already had 50 years of launch till present. the barbie doll had a lot of different clothings and accessories, the toy factories had even created a family for them , which make those girls who like to play masak-masak to love barbie doll even more.

2. new type of playing methods
the another reason is that the game designer keep on inventing and adding new types of playing methods for the games, in order to let the games to sustains it's popularity. The monopoly , which had 70 years history had invented more playing methods and improving itself. currently, there is already 12 types of different monopoly game designs and playing methods.

singapore's toys of the olden days had slowly been forgotten ...

singapore's games market does not ever been out of new toys, but because of the history, the orignal games in singapore cannot  be found. during the kampong days, the game the youths played includes pick-up-sticks, five stones, marbles etc. but these games had already been passed down by a few generation until now. Some people believes that because singapore had been served as the port. In the past, singapore had been importing games and toys from U.S.A, Japan , etc. that is also why singaporeans had more than enough toys to play with. Singapore toy and games markets is not big , when those other games was introduced in singapore, singapore based toys and games is been slowly forgotten .

It is a traditional Asian game in which players aim to keep a heavily weighted shuttlecock in the air using their feet and other parts of the body.  The game, may be rules-based on a court similar to badminton andVolleyball, or be played artistically, among a circle of players in a street or park, with the objective to keep the shuttle 'up' and show off skills.

First shooter games?

Here is how we played our games back in the 60s.
Back in the 1960s, we were fascinated with guns and we made them from timber. Using a template, a gun or rifle outline was imprinted on a piece of half-inch thick plank and cut out.
We fixed a rubber band at the tip of the barrel and on the other end, we nailed in a wooden peg, those used for hanging laundry. The rubber is then stretched and held down by the peg and this acted as the mechanism to propel our ammunition.

For bullets, we used unripe green ‘buay cherry’ fruits. These fruits were in abundance where we lived and when ripe, they are red and tender with a grainy sweet taste. Green unripe ‘buay cherry’ is sturdy and makes good projectiles. The peg holds down the stem and the rubber band is extended over the fruit. Releasing the peg will propel the fruit forwards.
Used light bulbs tied to a tree, empty cans on a shelf and birds became our targets and for calibrating our weapons. Everyone tried to outdo each other with crazy designs, some work and some don’t.
War games were played between two teams and sometimes, it got out of hand as we ignored the rules. Gunfights usually ended up in fistfights.
These were the cowboy days. .
